Current Equipment
In the years behind us, occasionally I changed my equipment for several reasons.
Some favourite Transceivers stayed behind and are still available and in use.
Sometimes I think its would have been better to hold them all…hi…
My current Ham Radio Equipment consists of :
Yaesu FT-897D
Afther 12 years absence on HF, when I came back on air again, and I was searching for a new combined HF/VHF/UHF transceiver and bought this FT-897D.
Afther I purchased the Yaesu FTDX-3000D is this now my second HF tranceiver. The most important reason to choose the FT-897D in 2012 was the combination with the adjustable HF antenna ATAS-120A.
Yaesu FT-8900R
For the Mobile Communication on the way, I needed a new VHF/UHF tranceiver. Afther I tried several others rigs, at last I choose this FT-8900R
Yaesu FTDX-3000D en SP-2000
My latest purchase
I use this tranceiver almost every day. Doing lots of experiments and making QSO’s with Digital Modes
Baofeng UV-5RE
2 small, handsome handheld tranceiver's for VHF/UHF. Most times I use them during my holidays in Germany of Portugal. Complete, easy to use and not expensive
The Antennas
Living I a Apartment-building, is not ideal for my Ham-Radio Hobby. Especially when you live on the ground floor. But’ I’ve got permission to put limited Antennas on the Roof for HF and VHF/UHF.
My antenna situation now exists of :
HF: Horizontal High-End-Fed antenna for 10-80 mtr
VHF/UHF : Diamond X30 Omni directional vertical
Both antennas are combined with a duplexer filter , made by Jan, PA0JWX, on one Coax cable. In the Shack I use a second duplexer to split the signal out again to 2 tranceiver's.
Short G5RV antenna for 10-40 mtr
Yaesu FT-23R
I also have a old Yaesu FT-23R handheld tranceiver.
In 2013 I put in a CTCSS encoder so I can used on repeaters again.
Older Equipment
Of cource, just like with other Ham’s, I had in the past, lots of other equipment. The most of them I sold again.
For a short impression of the most important ones, take a look at this link :
HISTORICAL EQUIPMENT
Combined VHF/UHF tranceiver more than 30 years old, but still doing a great job at my home QTH.
Digital Radio DMR - TYT DM-380
Time goes on. Things change from analog to digital
Also the local repater. So we joined them, and wanted to do some experiments on DMR too.
We bought a low-cost DMR handheld tranceiver from TYT via a Chinese website. I must say, its nice, but the activity on DMR in this region is (still ?) Very low.
